This
blog will cover information on clothing and the best places to purchase
it as well as what is the best clothing to wear when skiing at
Glasgow
Ski and Board or Bearsden Ski Club
One of the most common questions asked
is,
Keeping in mind this is Scotland and we
can have many different weather systems in one day.
Be prepared - saying that once you're out there you quite often don't notice the weather as your enjoying your lessons so much, but Just remember;
(There's no such thing as bad weather just inappropriate clothing)
Waterproof jacket is a must (this is usually the one piece of clothing everyone has in Scotland), Arrrrr our weather really is dreadfully wet and cold most of the year.
Gloves are a must and need to be worn at all times but don't feel you need to go out and buy special ski gloves you don't the clubs sell £1 magic gloves.
If you don't have waterproof trousers wear leggings or joggers and if the weather is really bad bring a complete change.
Wear thin layers, too much is better
than too little and clothing can always be taken off, arms and legs need to be
covered at all time.

Don't wear jeans they just attract the
water and will be very uncomfortable.
Wear thick socks as feet can get cold.
Where is the best places to purchase clothing for ski or snowboard lessons?
Clothing can be found in most of the outdoor sporting shops in and
around Glasgow, quiet often bargains are to be had most of the time especially
in the spring and summer months. I have given a few suggestions below but there
are many more including eBay and big supermarkets.
Greaves ( www.greavessports.com/our-stores
)
Decathlon ( www.decathlon.co.uk)
Tiso (www.tiso.com/uk_shops/glasgowoutdoorexperience)
Lidl and Aldi quiet often have weeks
when they offer really good prices on waterproof trousers, jackets, gloves and
helmets.
Most often I direct customers to try TK
Max, staff instructors teaching buy clothing from here as the prices are
fantastic for the brands on offer.
That is if what you want and need is in
the store when you need it, as they can also be seasonal.
