Ski School is a fantastic experience for the children and
the parents enjoy their free time as all the classes are supervised from start
to finish meaning parents can leave for that well earned coffee. (ah bliss, peace and quiet).
Both Bearsden and Bellahouston ski clubs run ski schools in
the school holidays and the children can most often be in morning or afternoon classes
for ski lessons. There is also the chance to have at try at snowboarding at both clubs.
Ski school is very popular and is quiet often books out quickly, so if you are interested give the ski clubs a call and reserve a space and don't leave it till the schools stop.

Children's ski lessons run from beginner to advanced
levels, each group have their own instructor, there will be about ten children
per group. lessons start on Monday's and run till Friday. The classes are three hours long per day and there is a break half way through where the children can have a rest and
purchase juice, crisps or sweets from the club, a tuck shop will be available
at Bearsden, or they can bring a snack.
Ski School run on
four occasions thorough the year
· Easter break
· Summer holidays
· October break
· Christmas/New Year holidays
Easter holidays hold two weeks of Ski School and by now you will be lucky to get a place. These really do fill up fast.
Summer Ski School runs for the length of the summer
holidays usually for around six to seven weeks of the holidays, often those who
have completed a block at the beginning of the break are looking to join
another class later on, or should I say the parents are looking for them to do
it.
October Ski School only runs for the one week that the
children are off school and usually will be booked up months in advanced.
Festive Ski School runs on different formats each year for
on both Christmas and New Year weeks. Some years it's run over four days and
some it's only a three day block, depending on what day the 25th and the 1st
fall on.
Parents will be amazed at how well the children improve
within the week and often find that they have moved up sometimes more than one
level. The children get exercise, learn a new skill or progress on what they
can do already and they always, and with any luck it will tire them out.
With this being an outdoor sport the weather is not always
at its best, especially in the winter months, (that would be between October to
April in Scotland) but the children don't ever mind as they are having fun and meeting
new friends.
