DOUGIE CRAWFORD ANNOUNCES HIS RETIREMENT

Hi guys today we will start with the sad news that
Dougie Crawford has announced his Retirement from Ski Racing.

Dougie has declare that he is to retire from ski racing after a nine year career, this is partly due to the fact that the ski federation has stopped funding our most talented speed skiers leaving them with no or little financial support.
This just goes to prove how dedicated Dougie has been to this sport over the last few years, as being self funded has proven to be extremely difficult especially in today economy.
What a shame, when snowsports has caught the interest of so many after the 2014 winter Olympics. There is a fantastic range of talent out there but without financial funding, they will no doubt find it almost impossible to continue.
I would just like to say what a fantastic ambassador you have been for the Scottish skiing as well as snowsports in general, with many younger talent looking up to you with the desire and aspirations to attain success at the same level.
I am so glad to hear that you will not be disappearing altogether and passing on all that incredible skill and knowledge you have acquired thought your career.
We will all miss you and look forward to following your next new adventures.
